About the kmamhof

The kmamhof (Korean Martial Arts Masters Hall Of Fame) is unique, because inductees can not buy their way into it.  In addition, inductees are nominated by our kmamhof Ambassador Team; and, once they are nominated on our official nomination form, the more than 3000 members of our KMA Masters Hall Of Fame group on Facebook can vote for the martial artist they deem deserving most.  When nominations and votes are closed, potential candidates for induction are contacted to see if they are available to attend the induction ceremony.  Attendance is mandatory, as we do not induct anyone via mail order.  Each year, our goal is to induct about a dozen of the greatest icons of Korean martial arts we can find.

Inductees for the kmamhof (Korean Martial Arts Masters Hall Of Fame) are chosen for the following categories:
Legends – Korean Martial Arts Icons and Legends who are no longer with us.
Living Legends – Korean Martial Arts Icons and Legends with more than sixty (60) years in the arts
Pioneers – Korean Martial Arts Icons and Legends with more than fifty (50) years in the arts
Trailblazers – Korean Martial Arts Icons and Legends with more than thirty-five (35) years in the arts

Competitors   – World Class competitors
Contributors  – Authors, Publishers, and others who made significant contributions to the arts.

While Most Inductees are well known, some of our inductees may not have marketed themselves as much as others.  This is not uncommon, as humility has always played a big role in martial arts.  Be that as it may, let me assure you that every single Inductee on our Honour Roll has made tremendous contributions to Korean martial arts.  Inductees of the KMA Masters Hall Of Fame were not chosen because of money paid, friendships, or for any other reason than their hard work to promote the arts we love.   Politics and Money play no role in our organization.
Rudy W. Timmerman,
Founder KMA Masters Hall Of Fame.

We encourage ALL Korean martial arts enthusiasts to join us in our efforts to recognize the contributions of Korean Martial Arts Icons and Legends who went before us, and YOU too can help us achieve this lofty goal.  Simply visit our KMA Masters Hall Of Fame group page on Facebook, and join our group.  On that group page, you will see nominations that you can vote on.  If you wish to nominate someone who fits the above categories, you can submit an official nomination form (you can download it from the same page), and send it to the founder of the kmamhof (Korean Martial Arts Masters Hall Of Fame)… Grandmaster Rudy W. Timmerman.

The e-mail address to send the form to is kwanjang@sympatico.ca

For those who we consider to be the Movers and Shakers of Korean Martial Arts today, there may be a place for you on our Elite kmamhof Ambassador Team.  This is NOT a group you should join just to put another notch on your belt.  Lord knows we have enough of those in Korean martial arts; however, if you truly want to participate in our events in a meaningful way, check the kmamhof Ambassadors page on this site.
